2017 德国别墅获展20 Ways Of Life Exhibition,德国

Intro of the Projects

 House of Eternal Landscape

Founded in 2009, Atelier Alter is a pioneering inter-disciplinary practice based in New York and Beijing. Noted for designing from critical analysis of the site, Atelier Alter has been recognized by numerous awards, including SARA National Award of Excellence2016, IDOL Gold Prize 2016 & 2014, 2013 Awards by Lighting Design Weekly, 2010 Excellence in Architecture Design of Fujian, etc.

Domus, WA, A+A, Russian Design Hub, I 'Arca International, Cooper Publishing, HKPIP, il Nuovo Cantiere, Landscape Design, Archdaily, Designboom等。

Atelier Alter focuses intensely upon culture facilities ever since the beginning of the practice. Atelier Alter wan the competitions to build Qujing Culture Center in 2009, by transferring the metaphysical context of the site into an artistic yet tangible urban space of historic remembrance. The Senior Culture Center won by Atelier Alter in 2010 and completed in 2014, exploded the typological transformation of bamboo bungalow into public facility. Projects by Atelier Alter have been published and featured by press of different parts of the world, including Domus, WA, A+A, Russian Design Hub, I’Arca International, Cooper Publishing, HKPIP, il Nuovo Cantiere, Landscape Design, Archdaily, Designboom, among others.

Besides culture projects, the portfolio of Atelier Alter ranges from small scale furniture design to educational facilities and large urban scale projects. Whether it is architecture, landscape or urban project, the works of Atelier Alter strive for manifesting ideas that speak about humanity, ideas offering critic rather than imitation.

For Auguste Rodin, reality changes as one turns every five degrees and “truth” is merely a phenomenon. As such, the reality around us is purely relative and could only be understood from different perspectives with different layers of interpretations. At the same time, Illusion often negotiates between reality and perception, which constantly and gradually shifts and turns our reality into illusion or the vice versa. In order to better understand “the self” as well as one’s relationship with reality and with the world at large, there needs to be a space for hallucination, a space for contemplation, a space to “space out” and a space to meander through time.

Such sacred space ought to be founded in one’s daily life and be readily available and accessible at one’s will. Essentially, we need a dwelling encompassed in nature and away from the chaos of the city to allow ourselves the time to better reflect upon our lives and our works as well as to help us understand ourselves more slowly and more profoundly.

As part of Experimenta Urbana in a show called “Ways of Life,” the design concept attempts to address the blurring boundary between live, work and leisure in the 21st Century.

The design of the elliptical retreat offers 360-degree views of the picturesque German landscape in the Lake Edersee area. A double glass skin informs the circulation paths that funnel inhabitants between rooms. Meanwhile, the spiral ramp further takes part in producing the illusion of endless landscape. As one ascend and descend oneself along the ramp, the surrounding sceneries would appear to come and go, yet they never seem to fade away. Views from afar would also seem to gradually merge with views nearby. The meandering ramp, hence, further blurs the boundary that separates reality and illusion. Architecture then becomes a way to measure the gradient of reality or illusion.

The changes of scenery as well as the changes in landscape as a result of the shifts in seasons would so impact the way the inhabitants project themselves onto the space where they work and dwell. This meditation between one’s inner self and the panoramic landscape as well as the exchange between the external environment and one’s inner self is what comprises the circle of life and work. While the inhabitants are inspired by the natural sceneries and by the changes in the surrounding environment at all times and from all directions, their lives and works also get redefined and even at times challenged accordingly. Along with live and work, labor and leisure, reality and illusion, the architecture gradually dissolves into the eternal landscape of Lake Ederesee.

Intro to 18 Other Groups of Projects

Anna Heringer (Germany)

Anna Heringer (born 13 October 1977 in Rosenheim) is a German architect. A proponent of sustainable architecture, she has designed a number of notable buildings including the METI Handmade School in Rudrapur, Bangladesh.

It is a house that sits lightly on the earth, both in terms of ecological and actual footprint. A house that demands from it`s inhabitants to follow the circle of seasons. As only half of the space is closed, there is a time for reflection and preparation (winter, spring) and a time for action and implementation (summer, autumn). Made from materials of the surrounding, the house uses and crafts the local potential as well as plays with the building tradition. The order and elements of a traditional timber-frame-structure are cited but a bit “offbeat” and assembled in a new way.

Placed in the middle of field, near the edge oft he lake, a narrow matte black dwelling.Boris Bernaskoni interprets the assignment to live and work in and with nature through a diagonal, falling tower. As the trapezodial structure tapers, the use of the buildings interior simplifies.

Dogma (Belgium)

Dogma (Belgium)

Dogma was founded in 2002 by Pier Vittorio Aureli and Martino Tattara. From the beginning of its activities, Dogma has worked on the relationship between architecture and the city by focusing mostly on urban design and large-scale projects. Parallel to the design projects, the members of Dogma have intensely engaged with teaching, writing, and research, activities that have been an integral part of the office’s engagement with architecture. Dogma is also active in offering consultancies to municipalities and agencies concerned with urban planning and architectural issues. Dogma’s work has been widely published and exhibited. In 2006, Dogma has won the 1st Iakov Chernikhov Prize for the best emerging architectural practice and in 2013, on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Dogma. 11 Projects’ the first monograph on the work of the office was published by the AA Publications.

The plot, presently a large grass meadow, is spatially defined on two sides by the access road (south) and a pedestrian path (north) while on the other two sides by groups of trees (east and west). For this reason, rather than occupying the plot, the house is an attempt to make this open and defined ‘green room’ available through the simplest possible infrastructure.

Fake Industries Architectural Agonism (Australia / USA)

Fake Industries Architectural Agonism (FKAA) is an entity of variable boundaries and questionable taste that provides architectural tools to mediate between citizens and institutions, the public sphere and disciplinary knowledge. Created by Cristina Goberna and Urtzi Grau from their headquarters in New York, Sydney and Barcelona, FKAA bridges the professional world and the environments of architectural academia to reclaim the architect’s role as a public intellectual—that is, someone who earnestly risks his or her credibility to question hegemonic beliefs.

MH House is a fragile double pitch-roofed box that attempts to contain everyday life. It combines features of the existentialist hut in the black forest, a positivist mass-produced housing unit, and the case study houses pragmatic hedonism. To escape all three models MH House collages all their technologies together in a temporary magic box. Awaking curiosity, occultation, contrasting inner and outer, offering mystery, the house imagines the domestic as a game.

Jürgen Mayer H. (Germany)

MAYER H.。

Segments is an experimental retreat for the immersion of life and work into nature. Located by the Edersee lake, the solid silhouettes stand seemingly next to each creating both, a protective exterior and a fluid interior topography that allocates the various programmatic elements.

KWK Promes (Poland)

Finding a good concept is the most significant moment of the whole design process in our studio. All the spatial solutions, the object's form and function, the use of materials and even details, which we always try to reduce to a minimum - everything comes out of this initial idea. The whole design process is consequently subordinated to a legible concept. It is quite intriguing as it lets us break up with formal habits, favourite shapes, tested solutions and move towards something new. When we start working on a project we never know what it's going to look like in the end. And this is the most fascinating part of it.

An experimental house brings on a new quality of life – close to the nature and its variable rhythm of day and night as well as seasonal rhythm. This is the return to the lifestyle, which is the healthiest one to the human being, because it is the most natural. The use of solution – an intelligent skin consisting of dynamically reacting glass and living grass creates an optimal microclimate of the interior, considerably reducing the need for mechanical regulation of temperature or humidity. We believe that the future of architecture is… no architecture, or rather; with the use of advanced technologies it should evolve to be as unobtrusive as possible.

NOA* (Italy)

noa* is the essential expression of a collaborative work-ethos: the young team of architects & designers, led by founders Lukas Rungger and Stefan Rier and based in Bolzano (Italy) and Berlin (Germany), explores and examines interdisciplinary methods of design, continuously evolving depending on bot

“From Roots to Crowns“ describes the vertical metamorphosis of a hybrid building, moving from below ground through fields and trunks up to the crowns. It is a living shell on the move, able to take on 3 main positions ?under the earth“(-1), ?on the fields“ (0) and ?in the tree crowns“ (+1+2). The lifting house is a visionary way of adapting the concept of ?living and working in nature“ to the varying requirements of its inhabitants.

Organization for Permanent Modernity (USA / Belgium)

Organization for permanent modernity Alexander D’Hooghe and Luk Peeters are partners in the Organization for Permanent Modernity; The organization has a research branch at MIT and professional locations in Boston and Brussels.

This is not just a house in a landscape. It is a one-person factory for an expert in the digital knowledge economy. The cosmopolitan internet-worker is suddenly also a rural dweller, and this condition offers destabilizing inversions. A medieval schloss and a dam – the two mineral behemoths that define the architecture of the region – advise the form and material of the Esuoh, but it must itself remain disconnected, unplugged from the territory: simply hovering above the primitive landscape, endowed with the impossible mineral weight of the (architectural) history that surrounds it.

Studio Precht

Precht is a group of creatives led by Fei & Chris Precht. Our studio is located in the mountains of Austria. From this remote location we design buildings around the world. With our projects we try to create a path to a more ecological future of our built environment.”

Living on the countryside offers many benefits and growing your own food and being independent from large supermarket chains is definitely one of them. This house portraits an example to live as part of the live-cycle of nature.

Pezo Von Ellrichshausen (Chile)

Pezo von Ellrichshausen is an art and architecture studio founded in 2002 by Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen. They live and work in the southern Chilean city of Concepcion and teach regularly at the IIT in Chicago. Their work has been distinguished with several international awards, edited in monographic publications and widely exhibited, among other venues, at the Venice Biennale, the Royal Academy of Arts in London and at the MoMA in New York

A well placed, proportioned, lit and ventilated room, as traditional as it might be, should be more than enough for that enjoyment, for the necessary feeling of a familiar place. Thus, our proposal implies a voluntary and bucolic return to nature, to a fairly pastoral and provincial living. The house is an asymmetrical object that stresses the friction between functional specificity and spatial vagueness. An opaque and robust piece that contains a vertical succession of chambers in three levels.

RICA Studio (USA / Spain)

RICA Studio is a young architectural office and a platform for design investigation operating across many scales. Based in Madrid and New York RICA* represents a new phase for I?aqui Carnicero and Lorena del Río who together bring an extensive and diverse building experience.

Ten stories’ house investigates an alternative way of living while questioning the classical concept of the villa where the sequence of generic rooms defines a domestic environment where the acoustic isolation and visual independence of the spaces facilitates the inhabitation. Our proposal challenges this notion of fragmentation by defining one main vertical space where the program is not any more linked to a room.

SsD (USA / Korea)

SsD is an architecture firm that approaches design as a convergent, interdisciplinary venture. Minimum form takes maximum effect as we strive to bridge the utopian and the pragmatic

The project takes a new approach to the conventional building envelope and creates ways of life between itself. Up to 10% of a normal building footprint is occupied by walls as dead space. By delaminating each individual layer of a wall and window assembly, we are able to build on the characteristics of each part and create new spatial conditions.

Somatic Collaborative (USA)

Somatic Collaborative

Somatic Collaborative is a research based design practice, which focuseson a speculative approximation to architecture and urbanism, and engages a wide host of material geographies and design procedures. Cutting across multiple scales – from interior furnishings to open territories – Somatic uses the architectural commission, design competitions, and diverse forms of applied research as conduits that facilitate an inventive construction of space.

Conceived as a house embedded in a 21st century winter garden, the Perched House examines how two architectural elements —a sole service core and a perimeter wall— can effectively organize a new model of live, work, and leisure, by giving spatial hierarchy through a single volume while simultaneously dissolving the boundaries between interior and exterior. With an elastic and porous envelope, the house can at moments be part of the open landscape while at others construct its own interior winter garden, adapting effectively to shifting programs and weather.

The conceptual idea for this building is a house that wraps itself around, and shelters, its owners while at the same time distributing the zones and individual rooms so that they enhance the awareness of living in harmony with nature. The building is lifted gently above ground – emphasizing that the existing grassy field is left untouched. The living areas float just above the grass and eventually stretches up into the trees.

Nowadays everyone is connected by Internet, thinking together as one organism. But in this process of connecting with each other virtually, we have somewhere forgotten about our physical connection to one another and nature. Hence now it becomes important to connect our virtual life to the physical surroundings and enjoy it to the fullest. As Aristotle said “Human being is by nature a social animal.” It is essential to study living through our relationships; individual to family, family to friends and further to the community life. The house is hence a manifestation of various ways of doing the same activity and various emotions arising while performing them. It is a breathing organism, which opens out or closes; transforming according to the number of dwellers.

The overlapping of domesticity and work has lead to a condition wherein we are never fully private or public, and that we are always working. Instead of an architecture that confirms this condition, we ask how architecture might in fact reaffirm these spatial distinctions to ensure the tasks of domestic life, work, public appearance, and privacy are maintained and protected. We propose a house that begins with simple geometric orders that create distinctions within the domestic/ work realm to preserve their fundamental roles. We then link these diverse spaces more precisely through exterior rooms that enable an integration and separation of these realms.

Kleingarten and Biotope are ways to cultivate nature. There are also arrangements of natural green, attempts to make wild, strong nature, which is beyond mortal control, stay closer to human beings. Slow architecture is also a trial to cultivate industrialized world, especially house and town. That is to make urban-life more relaxed and comfortable thing.
